Dear Readers, One of my most rewarding spiritual projects is writing op-eds from a Christian perspective for my local community newspapers, where my goal is to introduce Christian thoughts to our community. Writing this op-ed was particularly important to me because the new book I am writing addresses the decline of true Christianity in America. The increasing evil we see in our country today indicates a serious moral dilemma, and if the Church of Jesus Christ continues to decline, we can only expect that evil will increase in numbers and severity.
Is there a new dark culture of evil now taking over America?
As our great country slides deeper into spiritual darkness and farther away from the light of Christian principles. Our country can no longer boast to the rest of the world that the United States of America is a nation of people who are founded on love and caring for one another. On December 16th, 2024, there was another terrible school shooting that happened at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin. What made this school shooting rank as one of the worst school shootings for me was not the number of people killed but where they lost their lives. The school where this shooting occurred is described as a private K-12 school founded with a focus on the teachings of Jesus Christ and has an extensive Christian educational program.
In today’s worldly toxic environment, we see that the forces of evil are no longer hiding in the darkness, but evil is now coming out into the bright light of day. Our evil culture in this country is now finding its way into our politics, churches, and into our schools all across America.
What we are seeing is that our news cycle is bombarding Americans with so much corruption, immoral thinking, and negative political news that our minds are insensitive to what is now really happening in our country, which is the decline of true Christianity in America.
This terrible act should set off alarm bells for a long time, but this story will eventually become nothing but old news soon. The news cycle will quickly move on to the next story concerning political division, or widespread crime. One must wonder where evil in this country will strike next. Please pray for our country!
