In the United States of America today, we are now coming off a very bruising election cycle of two very different ways of governing this great country of ours, and the winds of change are now blowing briskly across this great nation. A new ideology of governing by the winner of the election is swiftly moving forward at a rapid speed like never before, and the entire world is watching this rapid change.
Sometimes, to correct our future, we must look to our past and what made America the great country it has become today, which may help us to find a way to a brighter future. I would like to provide my readers with a great quote. No one really knows who truly wrote this quote in its many forms, but the quote has been cited by many American Presidents and high-level political figures. In past years, the quote has often been misattributed to Alexis de Tocqueville, a noted French diplomat, political philosopher, and historian.
The quote reads:
“I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her fertile fields and boundless forests, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her rich mines and her vast world commerce, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her public school system and her institutions of learning, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution, and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did, I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.”
As Americans now struggle to find our voices today, all Americans need to pull together and become as one. We, the people, can no longer continue to support a new agenda of massive cuts to both foreign and domestic aid for poor people. We must continue to lead the world in benevolent giving because the United States is the most prosperous nation on the face of this earth, and for much has been given, much is required. This is what good nations do! We cannot use our great wealth as a weapon to beat up on smaller countries in our Western Hemisphere and other places in the world, or Russia and China will soon be operating in our front yard.
Being kind and good to our neighbors can be more beneficial to world peace and will be a better strategy than threatening the world with tariffs. In today’s world, your friends and coalitions of nations help keep the world peaceful. This is the way to project true power in the world.
As we see in this great quote, there is a sequence to the greatness of a nation. The quote does not tell us that being a good Republican or a good Democrat can make America great.
The quote tells us that if we fan the flames of righteousness with God and have true love for one another, this was the formula that made America great in the past. Our greatness has always come from the goodness that has been instilled within us and has been on display to the entire world!
We must make America good again to effectively fight all the enemies we now face. When we try to bully our neighbors, allies, and friends, we are no better than the cheap dictators in the rest of the world who oppress their own people and limit their rights. Is this coming to the United States of America soon? Please let your voices be heard to make America good again to all people in this country and the world!
